As the snow piles up and state workers rush home, here are some important and interesting links:
1. Tax Form Finalized: The final version of the health care tax forms was just posted by DOR. You can see them at mass.gov/dor/hcinfo. Other health-related info will be posted there too. DOR is planning to put up an online tool that walks taxpayers through the form, and a video tutorial people can watch online. Those without internet access can get info at DOR’s 6 district offices.
2. Progress Report: The 10th bi-monthly health reform implementation report to the legislature has been posted, here. Nothing earthshaking seems to be included, but as always it’s a good, concise summary of the entire health reform enterprise, including aspects that don’t often get enough attention, like Community Health Workers or the MassHealth wellness initiatives. We were pleased to learn that the Division of Insurance is close to staffing up their new Health Access Bureau.
3. Mandates: Lots and lots of blogosphere discussion of the individual mandate in the context of the Clinton-Obama campaigns back-and-forth. The issue broke out of blogworld with NYTimes columnist Paul Krugman’s column, here. Interesting places to join the discussion are here, here, here and here.
4. Technical Corrections: Governor Patrick signed the health reform technical corrections bill, which is chapter 205 of 2007. The text is here.
Stay tuned for the report on today’s Connector Board meeting.
