The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), part of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, has many consumer-oriented materials on-line, including information on how to help prevent medical errors.
Now, their What’s New in the Role of the Patient in Safety roundup includes a link to the HCFA’s Consumer Health Quality Council’s new website The Assertive Patient, at www.assertivepatient.org.
The Assertive Patient provides resources for individuals who have been dissatisfied with a health care experience. The Consumer Council and HCFA appreciate AHRQ’s recognition of how helpful The Assertive Patient website can be to patients and family members who are in the midst of trying to navigate the health care system after a difficult experience.
