New Director of DPH Quality and Safety Bureau Announced

Alice Bonner, who has been serving as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Senior Care Foundation, will be joining the Department of Public Health in mid-October as the new Director of the Bureau of Health Care Safety and Quality, replacing Paul Dreyer who retired over the summer.

Ms. Bonner has worked in long-term care for a number of years, including as a gerontological nurse practitioner and a professor at the UMass Graduate School of Nursing. Health Care For All and the Consumer Health Quality Council look forward to working with Ms. Bonner and others to continue the work Massachusetts has undertaken to improve the quality of health care. We also thank Jean Pontikas, who served as interim director, for her work over the past few months.
