Boom Chicka Chicka…Wash Your Hands

Hospitals in the Boston area are getting creative as they work to increase the number of health care providers who wash or sanitize their hands.

WBUR reported today on efforts at Mass General and Tufts Medical Center to use humor and music, as well as undercover handwashing “agents,” to get the attention of staff. Staff at MGH made a rap video about Cal Stat, a hand sanitizer used at the hospital. View the rap video, which features sunglasses, dance moves, and more, on the WBUR website. MTV, here they come. It may be wacky, but if it actually does result in more attention to handwashing then go for it. It will be interesting to see what comes next once the novelty wears off.
