In an effort to empower state residents and get community buy in on future decisions, the Administration announced this week they would hold 36 community forums this month to give residents an opportunity discuss ways to tackle our increasing fiscal deficits. These “Community Forums on Choices and Priorities” will be hosted by Governor Patrick, Lieutenant Governor Murray and senior cabinet officials and held in cities and towns across the state. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions and offer suggestions on the direction of our Commonwealth including issues of regarding state reform and revenue. Governor Patrick said in a statement, “As a steep decline in revenue continues to force painful budget choices, now is the time for public officials to engage with the public we serve – to ask them what kind of government they want and how to best pay for it.”
The first of these forums will be held in Braintree next Monday evening. For more information, please go to: www.mass.gov/governor/forum. Be sure to check the website regularly for updates as well as videos and summaries of the forums. If you can’t attend one of the planned forums, the Administration will provide you with a video, PowerPoint and a feedback form to host your own; just email grassroots.governance@state.ma.us to do so.

You’ve got to be kidding. This governor couldn’t care less about the people of Massachusetts, he’s just another bored rich guy using his office as a stepping stone to his real goal. I’ll never vote for him again, and I’ll wager that a lot of other MA residents feel the same way. Let us know if you need help packing in 2010.
