PBS’ flagship NewsHour broadcast a look at implementation of health reform in Massachusetts last night. The report included Gov. Patrick, Senate Pres. Murray, the Connector’s Jon Kingsdale, Lynn Health Center’s Lori Berry, patients on CommCare, critic and frequent blog commenter Ron Norton, and our own John McDonough.
Transcript, audio and video are here.
“Fair and Balanced”
This was not “fair and Balanced.”
Where is the mention of high dedutables?
Why talk to mostly people that are for mandates?
Gov.Patrick,Jon Kinsdale,John McDonough,Senate Pres.Murray, how can they be fair and balance when they want mandates?
I am certainly glad citizens are getting medical care but there are still many of us who still cannot afford this insurance,ne mention for that. There is something so wrong about a State law that criminalizes being uninsured and no mention of that either.
Overall, I thought the report was fair. I would note that my forty minute interview with Susan Dentzer was edited down to a 30 second sound bite that didn’t really convey how vehemently I oppose the Massachusetts experiment. That is not a complaint, merely an observation. I’ve worked as a journalist and I know how the television news game plays out. Besides, I think even casual readers of this blog are familiar with my stance. I’ll be watching closely for the May release of the DOR figures and I fully intend to keep fighting the good fight.
