Cover the Uninsured Week 2008

Health Care For All is proud to announce that Cover the Uninsured Week 2008, a national campaign to promote awareness of the uninsured, is currently underway. The campaign runs from April 27th to May 3rd and features events in all regions of the Commonwealth.

The campaign’s goal is to ensure that eligible children and families are aware of the assistance that is currently available to them, and to build momentum among policy-makers, health care professionals, and active residents for increased support for affordable health care solutions.

Many exciting events are planned for this week, including:
• April 28th-May 2nd, 9am-4pm: Hampshire Health Connect holds a health access fair at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital in Northampton with over 15 local agencies attending
• April 28th-May 2nd, various times: Stanley Street Treatment and Resources (SSTAR) hosts events at various community sites including hospitals, daycares, and drycleaners in Fall River
• May 2nd, 8am-6pm: Massachusetts Medical Society Student Section hosts a public service event at South Station in Boston
• May 2nd, 11am-1pm: Holyoke Community College hosts Health Care For All staff to provide information for students
• May 3rd, 8:30am-12:30pm: Joint Committee for Children’s Health Care in Everett sponsors annual Walk it Out for Kids in Everett
