Globe’s Alice Dembner Departing 5/2

What’s with people leaving their jobs??!! The nerve! We hear the Boston Globe’s Alice Dembner is taking the paper’s too-good-to-resist buy-out option and will leave her position on Friday, May 2. Alice assures us she is not retiring. She’s hoping to work on public policy in the nonprofit world in Boston.

This is a real loss for health reform. Alice sure as heck did not write her stories the way we would have. Yet she always covered health reform with professionalism and thoughtfulness. This is a hugely complex subject area, and we will all be worse off with her departure.

Good luck to Alice, and thanks for a job well done.
