C.58′s Racial/Ethnic Disparities Council to Hold 1st Meeting on Tuesday

The Council on Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities established under Chapter 58, the Massachusetts Health Reform law, will convene it’s first official meeting on Tuesday, December 18th, 11:30am, at the Joslin Diabetes Center in the Longwood section of Boston. The Council is charged with making recommendations to reduce and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in access to quality health care and in health outcomes within the Commonwealth.

The 37 designated members organizations of the council are representative of a wide range of groups working to eliminate health disparities in Massachusetts, including several Disparities Action Network members. The DAN congratulates the Legislature and Administration on this new development and will continue to monitor developments. Stay tuned to the HCFA website and blog for updates.
