Massachusetts will be taking a major step tomorrow to address racial and ethnic health disparities. HHS Secretary Bigby, and DPH Commissioner Auerbach will announce $1 million in grants to 36 agencies throughout the state to fund new efforts to eliminate racial and ethnic health inequities in Massachusetts.
DPH will also release its most comprehensive report to date detailing the problem of health disparities in Massachusetts. The 300+ page report covers a range of health topics broken down by region, race and ethnicity.
Congratulations to the administration for moving this issue forward in a significant way.
